I think I have benefited from the criticism of political opponents with deep pockets, who are outraged that I welcome small donations from ordinary citizens!

Every £1 donated will be used to print the much-loved FOCUS community newsletters. This is the principal way I maintain contact with my residents and remain accountable to the people who elected me. I am so grateful to the crowdfunded support of ordinary voters, as I don't have the cash funding enjoyed by a property developer "Independent" councillor or a Labour MP backed by multi-millionaires. I certainly don't have wealthy backers giving me or my family designer clothes, like Labour party leaders!

I already pay for local campaigning out of my own pocket, but I'm proud to enjoy donations from my supporters that help me reach even more people. I'm able to stand up and shout for the day-to-day struggles ordinary families face with the cost-of-living crises because my partner and I aren't independently wealthy. I think that makes a breath of fresh air to the ranks of property developers packing the benches of County Hall!

The £10s and £20s I receive from residents across North Lodge and Chester-le-Street are a massive help in funding the FOCUS community newsletters I produce. Thanks for helping me keep in touch all year round, not just at election times!
