Poll shows Durham election is two horse race

A YouGov poll has shown that Labour and the Lib Dems are neck and neck in Durham. The Conservatives, meanwhile, are out of the race.

The latest poll shows both Labour and Lib Dems on 37%.

Carol Woods, Lib Dem candidate for Durham said, "This polls tells us what we already knew - this election is a fight between us and Labour. Local voters are faced with a straight choice between more of the same from our failed Labour MP or a fresh start with the Lib Dems.

"In a seat that Labour used to win by 20,000 votes, for us to be so close at this stage shows just how many people are switching to support my campaign.

"It is clear that we have a great chance of winning on May 6th but everyone who wants change in Durham must go out and vote to make sure it happens. Staying at home or voting for any other party will just let Labour win again, and they don't deserve another chance after so many years of let-down."
