VINCE CABLE TO SPEAK AT LIB DEM REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Vince Cable MP will be the guest speaker at the North East Lib Dem Regional Conference and AGM this Saturday.
Dr Cable will address the question "Is the financial storm abating?" and consider how the challenges of the economic downturn regionally and nationally should be tackled.
Lib Dem campaigner for Durham, Carol Woods, said:
"Vince Cable has a proven track record of making the right calls before and during this financial crisis. His warnings regarding the coming recession were ignored by the Government and we are all now paying the price.
"It is also Vince who has shown the clearest road out of this recession. His calls for tax cuts for middle and low earners, investment in jobs and social housing as well as huge improvements to the rail network would help secure the future of this country.
"I look forward to welcoming Vince to the region again and having further discussions about what we can do to help the people of Durham."
